Setup & Migration

Do I need to know anything technical?

Nope. I set everything up and manage it going forward. You always have a human to contact, and that human's name is Josh.

Can you move my existing site?

If you own the rights to your existing site and it meets my criteria (simple HTML/CSS/JS, no complex backend), then absolutely. Some hosting platforms, like Wix or Squarespace, make it hard to export your site since they own the templates, though you own the data. I can help you get your content out and build a new site if needed. I migrate your site for free and make sure it works just like before, with no downtime expected. I keep you updated every step of the way.

Is a domain included with every plan?

Management of one (1) domain (.com) is included. Acquiring a domain may incur additional charges, and premium TLDs or add-ons cost extra. Additional domains are $20 per year each. Check availability with the Domain Checker.

Do you provide email accounts?

I provide email forwarding (aliases), so you can receive mail at addresses on your domain and have it delivered to an existing inbox. For example, an alias like me@example.com can forward to your personal email. I can also help you connect a mailbox provider, like Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, so you can send and receive mail directly from your domain; those provider fees are separate. I don't host mailbox platforms myself, but I do run email marketing for newsletters and campaigns.

Editing & Maintenance

What counts as a "small content edit"?

Quick changes like updating text or swapping a photo. Bigger changes, like new pages or redesigns, are quoted as projects. If you expect frequent edits, Care plans cover that with a set amount of edit time each month.

How do the two quick edits per year work?

They're for small, quick changes: text tweaks, replacing a photo, updating hours or pricing. If you need more than that, Care plans include a set amount of edit time every month.

Can I edit my site myself?

Yes. I can set up a simple workflow so you can update text and images yourself for little to no extra cost, through Google Drive automations. I don't provide a full CMS or editing platform.

Do you do daily backups? What does that mean for a static site?

Yes. I keep versioned copies of your site so I can roll back if something goes wrong, like a bad edit, a deleted file, or defacement. Static sites change less often, but backups mean fast recovery and peace of mind.

Managed Care & SEO Services

What's the difference between hosting and managed care?

Hosting keeps your site online. Managed Care turns hosting into a full-service experience with proactive optimization, regular backups, performance monitoring, monthly edits, and detailed reporting. Full details are on the Care plans page.

Can I add Care to existing hosting?

Yes. If you're already hosting with me, I can upgrade you to any Care plan. I'll migrate your current setup and begin the monthly optimization work right away.

What's included in Care plan edits?

Care includes 30 minutes of edits a month, Care+ includes 2 hours, and Care Pro includes 4 hours. This covers content updates, design tweaks, new pages, forms, and A/B testing. Time beyond that is billed at $120 an hour, and I confirm with you in writing before going over.

Do I need Care to get SEO services?

No. SEO stands on its own and doesn't require hosting or a Care plan with me. It layers well on top of either if you already have one.

How long do SEO results take?

Local SEO typically shows initial improvements within 2 to 3 months, with bigger gains by month 6. I send monthly reports so you can track progress the whole way.

Can I cancel Care or SEO services?

Yes. Both Care and SEO can be canceled with 30 days' notice. I'll help you transition back to basic hosting, or assist with migration if you're moving on.

Are managed care plans required?

No, Care plans are optional. Basic hosting works fine if you'd rather manage your site yourself. Care plans exist for ongoing maintenance, security, and performance work if you want that handled for you.

Email Marketing

What email marketing do I get with Care?

Every Care plan includes email marketing up to 10,000 emails a month: newsletters, promotions, and automated sequences. I run it on Sendy behind the scenes and handle sender setup and deliverability, so there's no separate bill. Need more than 10,000 emails a month, or a standalone setup with no hosting or Care plan attached? That's custom work, billed at $120 an hour.

Who owns my email list?

You do. You can export your list at any time. I'm not renting you space on someone else's platform, and there's no lock-in if you decide to move it elsewhere.

Pricing & Plans

Do all your services require hosting?

No. Care, SEO, and custom work all stand on their own. Hosting is $120 a year flat if you want me to handle your domain, SSL, and DNS too, but it isn't a requirement for anything else I offer.

What happens if I want to leave?

Send a written request and I'll unlock your domain, hand over the transfer code, and give you account access within 5 business days. A full copy of your live site follows within 10 business days. This applies no matter how much time is left on your hosting term or what you still owe for other work. Full terms are on the ownership page.

Is there a contract?

Hosting is billed annually, but there's no contract lock. You can upgrade your plan at any time, and if you decide to leave, I'll help you migrate your site smoothly.

Do you build websites?

Yes. I build clean, responsive HTML & CSS sites and add a simple backend when needed (for forms, lightweight APIs, or small dynamic features). Custom builds are $120 an hour with a $2,500 minimum; most small business sites land between $2,500 and $6,000. I scope every project and give you a written price before I start. Need a larger project? Contact me or see Plans and Pricing for details.

Is there a limit to the size of my site?

No, I don't set a practical site size limit for typical small business sites. Storage for photos, videos, documents, and pages is included, and most sites land between 1 GB and 5 GB.

How do you handle payment processing?

I use Stripe as my payment processor. No payment data is stored on my servers, and I never have access to your full payment information. Every transaction runs through Stripe's PCI-compliant systems.

Technology & Scope

Do you support WordPress?

Yes. My managed WordPress hosting covers plugin and theme updates, security hardening, monitoring, and speed optimization. I can migrate an existing WordPress site or launch a new one. Prefer a static site? I handle those too.

Do you use AI?

Yes, carefully. I use AI to speed up parts of building simple HTML pages, like scaffolding structure. I review every site by hand before it goes live to check links, content, and details.

Do you handle single-page apps (SPAs) or complex web apps?

I focus on fast, secure static sites (HTML, CSS, JS) to keep costs low and reliability high. SPAs and database-driven apps aren't part of my standard offering. If you need something more advanced, I'm happy to talk about options or point you to someone who builds that.

Support & Timeline

What are your support hours?

Business hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm Arizona time. I monitor uptime and handle urgent issues fast. For anything non-urgent, expect a reply by the next business day.

How fast can you launch a new site?

Once I have your content (logo, copy, photos), a typical simple site goes live in 2 to 5 business days. Need it sooner? Ask and I'll see what's possible.

Do you serve businesses outside Phoenix?

My clients are primarily in the Phoenix metro: Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, and surrounding areas. Everything I do is remote-friendly, so I work with businesses anywhere in the US. If you're not local, you're still welcome.
